INSTALLATION CEREMONY

The big day for Deeparians finally came today on 17th November,2010 when the Deeparians formed their Interact Club and conducted their first ever Installation Ceremony.

The much awaited event commenced with the arrival of chief guest Mr.Suresh Bansal, President of Rotary Club of Delhi Vivek and his team. Head Mistress Mrs.Kalyaani Nath too graced the event with her presence.

Little Deeparians welcomed the elite guests by presenting them a bouquet. Thereafter the music department presented a welcome song for the guests.

This was followed by the formal part of the ceremony.

The board of Directors for year 2010-11 were pinned.

Shubham Singhania was elected to be the first president of newly formed club.

Chief guest was requested to do the honors. He pinned the elected president and gave him the collar. This was followed by the provocating address by the president of Rotary Club of Delhi Vivek Mr.Suresh Bansal. He appreciated the interest of students in forming their club and their willingness to serve the community. Head Mistress Mrs.Kalyaani Nath in her address congratulated the Interact team and wished them all success in their endeavors. She also thanked president of Rotary Club of Delhi Vivek for sponsoring the Interact Club.

Thereafter, the newly elected President Shubham Singhania addressed the audience. He in his speech thanked the almighty and everyone around him who made his wish came true. He thanked his entire team for their support and also the sponsor club for their faith in him. He also discussed his upcoming plans with the audience which got a huge applaud from the audience as they sounded really great and exciting.

The event finally culminated with a small cultural program presented by Deeparians.

Project 1: PULSE POLIO CAMPAIGN

Big day for Deeparians. And why not? Here they are: Up with their first project!

And biggest thing a project before formal installation of club..! Amazing..!

A joint project with Sponsors to start off with. The excitement and energy levels knew no bounds.

The idea was to have the first project declared as successful. And so we were..'SUCCESSFUL'..!

We started for the camp at 9:00 in the morning from our school. Planned a Mass Awareness rally throughout  the way. Went shouting for the cause:

"1..2....3...4....

 knock..knock at every door.

 5..6..7..8.....

 polio karo eradicate"

Full with enthusiasm we reached our destination in an hour. A slum called JJ clusters was the place we had the polio camp. Reaching there we were all set to work. We went into slums, volunteered for the cause, asked the people to help us by cooperating, encouraged the little children to come along us and get immunized.

What we got was a mixed reaction of people: some agreed, some appreciated and some hesitated.

But we didn't gave up. Kept telling them how important it is for a child to be immunized against Polio, encouraged them by every possible way we could, and perhaps at last we 'WON'!

We immunized a record 551 children within a short span of time from a single slum.

We felt very happy when we came to know that it was the highest immunization done by our sponsor club in a single day from a single place, and even more happy when they credited the success of project to us.

Our enthusiasm and excitement was doubled when we were joined by a foreign delegation of Rotarians from Rotary Club of Bicester (UK) and that too in our very first project.

They supported us, appreciated us, and most importantly they were highly impressed by us.

They requested us to be in touch with them and asked us to send our snaps to them so that they can inspire the youth in their area to work for a good cause.

We don't know if they inspired any but we were truly 'INSPIRED' hearing this..!!

Forming of the club..!

3 september,2010 was the memorable day which embarked the beginning of club.
It was then that a bunch of students went to attend the DILA- District Interact Leadership Assembly at Apeejay School, Seikh Sarai, New Delhi.
It was then that the students came to now about Rotary- How big it is and howWonderful it is..!
The training session motivated the students to have a step in the direction of what Rotary International was doing. The students were motivated to form an interact club and chhanelize their efforts to serve the community.
Emintent personalities like Kiran Bedi and management guru-Arindam Chaudhry were present at the event as well; and their heart winning speech boosted the moral of one and all.
Mrs.Kusum Agrawal who also is a Rotarian, was the person behind helping us get the sponsorship of our now parent club i.e Rotary Club of Delhi Vivek.
Under her constant support and motivation, and with the enthusiasm of the student who attended DILA, the Interact Club of Deep Memorial Public School was chartered in no time.

And its since then, we have been conitnously working at our BEST..!!
